About the studio
A book studio, not a publisher.
We do the work that turns a manuscript into a book people can buy — writing, editing, design, formatting, publishing setup and launch. Then we hand all of it to you. Your name, your rights, your royalties, your account.
What ProBook Studio is
ProBook Studio is a book-services studio working with independent authors, mostly in the United States and the United Kingdom. Authors come to us with something between a rough idea and a finished draft, and we do whichever parts of the journey to a published book they do not want to do alone.
We are not a publisher and we are not an agency. We do not acquire books, we do not take a cut of sales, and we never appear on your copyright page. You pay us for work, you receive the work, and that is the whole of the relationship.
What we do
Ghostwriting, developmental editing, line and copy editing, proofreading, beta reading, cover design, interior formatting, publishing setup on the major platforms, book promotion, and author websites and landing pages.
Most authors need two or three of those, not all of them. We would rather tell you that you only need a proofread than sell you an edit you do not need, because a book that does well is worth more to us than one large invoice.
How we work
A sample before you commit. Send us a few pages and we will do the work on them, properly, free. It is watermarked, and it is real — it is the same standard you would get if you hired us. Judging a book studio on a portfolio is difficult; judging one on your own pages is not.
A written quote, with the scope in it. Every project is priced individually, because an 80,000-word fantasy novel and a 20,000-word business book are not the same job. The quote names what is included, how many revision rounds you get, and when each part is due.
Payment in milestones. We do not ask for the whole fee upfront. You pay for a stage, we deliver that stage, and you decide whether to continue.
One person on your book. Your project goes to a specialist in that discipline rather than to whoever is free, and you deal with them throughout rather than being passed between accounts.
What we will not do
This section matters more than the rest of the page, because the things listed here are how authors get hurt in this industry.
- We never take a percentage of your royalties, now or later.
- We never publish under our own imprint or put our name on your book.
- We never open a publishing account in our name on your behalf. Your KDP, IngramSpark or Draft2Digital account is yours, opened by you, with your bank details in it, and we work inside it only if you invite us to.
- We never claim a partnership, affiliation or special relationship with Amazon, KDP or any other retailer. Nobody has one.
- We never cold-call or cold-email authors. If someone contacts you out of the blue claiming to be from ProBook Studio, it is not us.
- We never put your book in our portfolio without asking you first, in writing, as a separate question.
On final payment, copyright in everything we made for you transfers to you absolutely, confirmed in writing at handover. The detail is in our terms of service.
Who we are
ProBook Studio operates from Nigeria and works with authors wherever they are, most often in the United States and the United Kingdom. We quote and charge in US dollars.
Our specialists are editors, writers and designers by trade. The people who would work on your book are introduced by name on our home page, and you will know who yours is before you pay anything — not after.
Two honest notes
On our portfolio. Some of the work shown on our work page is clearly labelled as concept work — pieces produced to show what we can do rather than commissioned by a client. We label it because a portfolio that quietly mixes the two is how authors get misled, and you are entitled to know which is which.
On the name. There are other businesses with “ProBook” in their name that we have no connection to whatsoever. We are always ProBook Studio, in full, and this website is the only place we operate from.
Talking to us
The live chat on this site is answered around the clock and we reply immediately — it is not a ticket queue. You can also email probookstudio12@gmail.com, or start a project and tell us what you are working on.
Asking questions costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Most authors message two or three times before they decide, and that is normal.
See the work before you decide
Send us a few pages. We will edit or write them properly, free, and you can judge us on your own book rather than on anything written on this page.
